1. Buddhists believe Thursdays are important in education. In Buddhist Thailand, it is believed that a person should begin their education on a Thursday because Thursday is considered to be “Teacher’s Day”. Thai students still have gratitude ceremonies on Thursdays for their teachers. Therefore, graduation days at universities in Thailand almost always occur on a Thursday.

2. Thursday is the best day to start a new habit. You are less likely to be busy with competing priorities, like on a Monday, and you can practice that habit on the following Friday and throughout the weekend, increasing the chances that the change will stick. 

3. In the United States, Thanksgiving Day is an annual festival celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November. It began as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and the preceding year. The dinner traditionally consists of foods and dishes indigenous to the Americas only.

4. In the United Kingdom, all general elections have been held on a Thursday since 1935, and this has become a tradition, although not a requirement of the law. 

5. Thursday is named after the god and planet Jupiter. Jupiter is portrayed as the principal god of sky and thunder who upheld his power with his thunderbolt. Planet Jupiter’s astrological and astronomical sign is sometimes used to represent Thursday.
