The National Museum of Serbia is the largest and oldest museum in Serbia; its collection has grown to over 400,000 objects. Its collections include art, archaeological, numismatic, artistic, and historical artifacts.
The museum was established in 1844 and moved into the current facility in 1950. The National Museum’s building has a facade styled in the neo-Renaissance style.
The National Museum is located in central Belgrade next to the Republic Square, formerly Theatre Square.
The museums offer a vast Art collection, which includes Italian, Dutch, Flemish, French, Russian, German, English masterpieces. The Museum also houses sculptures from the early Roman period to the 20th century.
