Avro Avian, G-EBOV
The Avro Avian, G-EBOV was the plane used by Bert Hinkler to fly the first solo flight in 1928 between England and Australia. He departed England and arrived in Darwin reducing the England-Australia record from 28 days to just under 15½ days. The Avro Avian was a series of British light aircraft designed and built by Avro in the 1920s and 1930s.

Bert Hinkler was a pioneer Australian aviator and inventor. He designed and built early aircraft before being the first person to fly solo from England to Australia and the first person to fly solo across the Southern Atlantic Ocean. He died in 1933 at the age of 39 after crashing into the remote countryside near Florence, Italy during a solo flight record attempt.
