Air and Space Museums exhibit the history and artifacts of aviation and space exploration. In addition to aircraft and space vehicles, exhibits include photographs, maps, models, dioramas, clothing and equipment used by aviators and astronauts.
These museums vary in size, from housing just a few aircraft to hundreds. Many museums address the history and artifacts of space exploration as well.
Many museums focus on military or civil aviation, or a particular era, such as pioneer aviation or aircraft from the World Wars and their aftermath, such as the Space Race.
