If you’re at all interested in getting caught up on a few fantastic local bands, this is definitely a perfect time to come out.
Courtesy of Houndstooth Entertainment, Philly’s newest music publishing and promotional company, owners Mark Schaffer and Mark Tedesco want to make sure they start things up right. So, they’re going to throw one hell of a launch party as way to celebrate. And you’re all invited! This is going down at PhilaMOCA this Friday, March 8, starting at 8pm. Tickets are $10 at the door but can be purchased in advance here.
Voted the Best of 2012 Emerging Artist by The Deli Philly, Norwegian Arms will kick off the beginning of their spring tour at PhilaMOCA. Late last year, the band released their fantastic, Russian inspired album Wolf Like A Stray Dog. The band consists of Brendan Muhvihil, Dr. Dog’s drummer Eric Slick, and Andy Molholt. If you haven’t listened to them yet, you really should. Check out these two great videos for “Tired of Being Cold” and “Wolf Like A Stray Dog.”
While this event is a launch party AND a tour send off, it’s also an album/tape release party, too! Philly’s own Scott Churchman will be releasing his most recent compilation titled Ignore That Noise. Expect to hear some hauntingly gorgeous new music from him.
