15 Days until the Roots Picnic ’14: Roman GianArther

Roman GianArther is part of Janelle Monáe’s Wondaland Arts Society, which is a collective of musicians producing a variety of jams. Roman GianArther is originally from Texas and considers his music, “Desperado R&B.” Listening to I-69, he reminds me of a more up-beat Gary Clark Jr.

Roman GianArther’s upcoming project, OK Lady, brings together the sounds of Radiohead with D’Angelo. We hope to see the disparate pieces come together at the picnic.

The Roots Picnic is less than a month away. In preparation, I plan to do my homework and learn as much about every artist performing on that bill. For the next 15 days, everyday will be a mini celebration leading up until the grand finale on May 31st at Penn’s Landing, the 7th annual Roots Picnic. Click here for tickets and for more info.
